Specifications

IBIC Group’s Frozen Green Beans are IQF processed from Egyptian French beans (Phaseolus vulgaris) — harvested during the cool Nile Delta winter growing season (October–April) when the beans are at their most tender, snapping cleanly when bent (the universal quality indicator for fresh bean quality), with maximum Vitamin K, folate, and fibre content. Blanched to fix vivid green colour and deactivate enzymes, then IQF frozen at -35°C within hours of harvest. Available in whole beans (stalk- and tip-trimmed) and cut beans (2–3cm pieces for faster cooking and component applications).

Frequently asked questions

IBIC supplies green beans in three size grades: Fine (under 7mm diameter) — the most tender grade with the finest texture, preferred for premium retail, fine dining, and gourmet applications; Standard (7–9mm) — the most versatile commercial grade for retail mixed vegetables, foodservice, and ready meals; and Extra (9mm+) — larger beans suited for casseroles, hearty stews, and applications where a firmer bean texture is preferred. Fine-grade green beans command premium pricing. All grades are available whole (stalk and tip trimmed) or cut (2–3cm pieces). Specify size grade and format at order.
